Life at Three Robins
A home of your own. Neighbours who become friends.
Three Robins is a community for people 55 and over who want to keep living independently, with good company down the hall and a little help available when they want it. Here is what that looks like in our communities today, and what it will look like at Eaux Claire.

What a Three Robins community is
An apartment of your own, built for company.
Every Three Robins community is an apartment building for independent adults. You rent a private suite with its own full kitchen and in-suite laundry, decorate it however you like, come and go as you please, and keep your car, your routines and your pets.
The difference is the main floor: a whole floor of shared rooms designed for neighbours to spend time together.
At Eaux Claire, suites range from studios to two bedrooms with a den, and the building is designed to keep working for you if you one day use a walker.

How programming works
Neighbours run the clubs. We help them start.
Most buildings hire someone to plan activities and hope people show up. Three Robins works the other way around. The clubs belong to the people who live here. Each one has a lead and a second, elected by its members, and a monthly Resident Advisory Committee decides together what the community does next.
In the first months, our on-site team hosts the first gathering of each club, helps it find its footing, and then steps back.
Joining is always optional. Some neighbours are in five clubs. Some come to dinner once a week and otherwise keep to themselves. Both are exactly right.

Every community's club list is a little different, because every community's neighbours are a little different.

Help when you want it
Nothing is bundled in. Nothing is forced on you.
A traditional retirement residence charges one monthly fee that includes meals, housekeeping and care, whether you need them or not. At Three Robins your rent covers your apartment and the use of the whole main floor. Services are separate, optional, and there when you want them. As your needs change, you talk to the on-site manager, not a moving company.
24-hour emergency call
An emergency call program in every suite, around the clock.
People on site
A General Manager, a Community Engagement Representative and a Maintenance Supervisor.
Housekeeping and laundry
Optional. Available when you want it, not part of your rent when you do not.
Home care, on site
Eaux Claire has a home care office on the main floor, so support can be added one service at a time.
No lawn, no snow, no furnace
Maintenance is handled. Lock the door and go see the grandchildren.
Pet friendly by design
Dogs and cats are part of the community.
In their own words
What our neighbours told us
"I love Three Robins. It's very community-minded. Everybody's friendly. Everybody's just happy, happy."
Lucille, who moved from St. Albert and sits on the Resident Engagement Committee
"All the community, all the activities that we go to, and all the facilities that we have here are just excellent. It's a good move."
Ian and Lilian McPhee
"I thought I was much too young for a senior living situation. After moving into Three Robins I realize I'm not losing my strength or independence. In fact I am gaining so much more than I could imagine."
Pam Smyth, 78
For sons, daughters and families
If you are reading this for a parent.
You are probably weighing two worries at once: that a parent is more alone than they let on, and that suggesting a move will feel like taking something away from them. Three Robins was designed with both in mind.
This is not a care home, and it does not feel like one. It is an apartment with a front door key, a kitchen, and a building full of people roughly the same age who chose to be here. The clubs are how a quietly isolated parent finds a Wednesday lunch crew again. The optional services and the 24-hour emergency call are how you sleep at night.
The best first step is to come together. Bring your parent to one of our community socials, or ask us about visiting an open Three Robins community on an ordinary afternoon, when something is happening on the main floor.

The people behind Three Robins
Two people you will probably meet.

Terry Collier, MSc.
Terry designed Three Robins around one idea: that the cure for loneliness is a building where neighbours actually know each other. Three Robins communities are open today across Western Canada.

Trudy McAuley
Trudy makes each community feel like home. She hosts the socials where future neighbours meet before the building opens, and trains every on-site team. If you come to an Eaux Claire social, there is a good chance you will meet her.
Common questions
The things people usually ask.
Is Three Robins a retirement home or assisted living?
No. It is an apartment community for independent adults 55 and over. There are no mandatory services and no care requirements to move in. Optional services are available if and when you want them.
Can I bring my pet?
Yes. Three Robins communities are pet friendly by design.
Do I have to join clubs or come to events?
No. Everything on the main floor is there for you to use, and nothing is required. Plenty of neighbours join one or two things and skip the rest.
Do I keep my car and my independence?
Yes. You have your own apartment, your own key, your own schedule. You come and go exactly as you do now.
What if my needs change later?
The building and suites are designed so you can stay as things change, including if you begin using a walker. Housekeeping, care and food services can be added one at a time. The on-site manager is the person to talk to.
Can my family visit, or stay over?
Of course. Family and friends are welcome in your suite and on the main floor. Ask our team about guest options.
Whenever you are ready
Come for a social, or just a cup of coffee.
There is no pressure and no sales desk. Our monthly community socials begin in late November 2026: meet the team, see the plans for Eaux Claire, and meet a few of your future neighbours. Bring a son, a daughter, or a friend if you would like a second opinion.
